Fairmont Le Château Montebello celebrates 90 years of history

Montebello, January 16th, 2020 – In June 1930, the North American newspapers announced the end of the construction of a monumental red cedar castle, in only four months! For 40 years, the castle was a private club for the rich and famous and it was in 1970 that its doors were opened to the public. This year, Fairmont Le Château Montebello is celebrating the 90th anniversary of the Log Château. We highlight the occasion by offering several special promotions to say Thank You!

If the walls could talk, the stories they would tell! From the numerous parties and grand balls organized for the prestigious members of the Seigniory Club to today’s lavish weddings and conventions, the Log Château has always known how to entertain its guests. With an innate sense of grandeur and joie de vivre, it is no wonder that notable political figures and royalty from all over the world chose to travel to Montebello to experience what the famous Log Château had to offer. It is safe to say, it did not disappoint! In most recent years, with more than 300-acres of land, the world’s largest log cabin became a resort for leisure and business travelers alike to discover and enjoy. Described as the true Canadian experience, the hotel is famed for its rustic yet luxurious accommodations, excellent service and locally-inspired gastronomy. In 2019, the hotel invested over $17.5M for the renovation of 102 of its guest rooms.

Along the years, delicious recipes were created to cater to the finest palates. To celebrate 90 years of gastronomy, newly appointed Executive Chef JP Gorley and his kitchen brigade have created a menu featuring several plates inspired by our history until today. This special 90th Anniversary Menu is available for groups of 25 people or more, all throughout 2020. It will be our pleasure to host you for a celebratory meal in the unforgettable ambiance of our Log Château.
